Almost all enlightened masters and spiritual texts stress on us to always 'remain in the present moment'. If we always remain so, how do we recollect certain timelines, such as appointments, meetings etc fixed earlier, but due now?

Enlightened masters and spiritual texts often emphasize the importance of being present in the moment. However, this does not mean that we should completely disregard the past or future. It is impossible to constantly remain in the present moment because the idea of someone trying to do so is not real.

Realizing that everything happens only in the present moment can be liberating. For example, when we watch our breath, we can see that it always happens in the here and now. Planning for appointments also happens in the present moment, including future planning. The appointment itself also only occurs in the present moment.

Trying to force ourselves to be present is counterproductive. The key is to consciously witness what is happening in the present moment. Life is a series of experiences that only occur in the present moment, including emotions, sights, and sounds. The past is simply a memory, and the future is only imagination, both of which also occur in the present moment.

Therefore, it is important to accept that there is no escape from the present moment. Instead of trying to escape or ignore it, we should acknowledge and embrace it.

It's important to realize that we cannot escape the present moment, and we should embrace it rather than trying to force ourselves to be present. By being mindful of our experiences, we can live more fully and enjoy the present moment.
